Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow, just not today!

So today was supposed to be a busy day of packing and school plays and tying up loose ends before heading out to Georgia this afternoon. Unfortunately school was cancelled yesterday in anticipation of a grandeous storm that is fouling up everything. Ally's play has been rescheduled for Jan 9th which means she misses it or we come home early and now it looks like we are going to be stuck here for at least another day. Jerry had to go up to UCONN this morning and I tried to finish up some last minute packing as we held onto the hope that everyone was wrong and we might get out anyway. Clear skies prevailed until about 1:15pm when we went from green grass and asphalt to snow covered in less than 1 hour. Once it started it came down so hard and so fast you could hardly see a foot in front of you. We packed up most of the car and sat tight in a condo with no persible food because we had consumed everything in anticipation of our month long trip. UGGGG, Winter!!! Rather than sit in the house like bumps on a log we ventured out with the girls. There we no cars or even people out (probably because it was getting dark but whatever)so we went sledding down some of the streets in our complex. It was so cold and snowing so hard that our eyelashes kept freezing and our faces were frozen. The girls we less than excited in less than 20 minutes but daddy had fun playing and pulling the sled. Now we to get to go home and get dry and clean up the snowy mess at door. I think getting everyone dressed and cleaning up took longer than playing did.
