Today two of my very good friend were celebrated birthdays which meant twice the birthday cake before heading to work at 3pm. I got the first cake out of the oven and was getting ready to put it out on the deck to cool when I dropped it on the freshly vacuumed carpet. Ruined. The look on Jerry's face was priceless. It was a mix of shock and fear as I think he thought I was about to lose it. All I could do was laugh. At least it was a two layer cake. One layer is better than no layer! Happy Birthday Brenna and Tanjua. I hope you guys have a great day!
After the cake fiasco Jerry and I took the girls to the library to pick out some more books and then I could walk across the street to work. It worked out that they were having a reptile show. The girls were able to see snakes, turtles, even an alligator. At the end the kids were allowed to come up and touch or hold the animals. Wouldn't you know that Ansley was the one with the 3 foot snake around her neck. Where's a camera when you need one!

The cup
So we went out and bought Jerry a cup for karate over the weekend. He's been kicked a couple of times now and felt like it was a worthy investment. :) This morning I go downstairs and Ally has it over her face like a mask. She sees me looking at her and asks me what it is. I explain to her that its a cup to protect daddy's privates. She immediately puts it down and yells, "Ewwww, this was on his peanut?" Thankfully it had just been taken out of the package but I don't think Ally will touch it again!
Tonight we had the missionaries and Ryan over for dinner. Ryan is a 19 year old intern working for Cigna as an actuary for the summer. He leaves next week for his mission so we wanted to have him over for dinner again. We had a good time. We ate way too much though. The missionaries were intrigued by the magic water. It can only be stored in glass or it loses it's alkalinity and antioxidant power so Jerry drinks out of a half gallon glass jug. It looks like he is drinking moon shine so an explanation is always warranted. It's day 7 and still so far so good!

Beat Boxing
So I know my girls have been spending too much time with there dad when they pick me up from work and the first thing they say is "mom we can beat box wanna hear?" Beat boxing, really Jerry. He says they picked it up from the Electric Company either way they are actually both pretty good. And it gave me a good laugh after two long 12 hour shifts in the ICU!

Home sweet home, finally
I don't have any scientific evidence to back up this theory but the drive home from any trip always seems much longer than the drive to the destination. We have finally made it home. I have to say the driving has been much more pleasurable in the van and I am getting over the initial sadness of driving around with a tag that says, yes I am old with kids! Maybe older with kids isn't so bad after all! :) No to hurry up unpack and wash before we head to Canada on Thursday!
